  Some nationalities have nouns for referring two people. For example: a Finn, a Spaniard, a Dane, a Briton, an Arab.  For most nationalities we can use the adjective as a noun for example a German, an Italian, a Belgian, a Greek, an African.  Some need woman/man/person added to them,(  you can't say "A Dutch") , so if in doubt, e.g : a Dutch man, a French woman , an Irish person, an Icelandic man . Challenge: Can you mention in comments... 1) a Black Southern African political figure? 2) a Mexican female artist? 3) a Greek opera singer? 4) a British singer born in India?  5) an American poet? 6) a Spanish writer? 7) an Australian actress? 8) a German car? 9) a Argentinian  female   hockey player?  10) the Polish woman who won two Nobel prizes?

Yesterday I took a KET course to the computer room. Let  me share my lesson plan with you: - I prepared a questionaire. They were about 10 questions such as:  what is the level course? , how many students are there in the class? Do they have laptops/computers/ smartphones/ tablets? , how many students have wifi at home, etc.) - I asked the students to take a sheet of paper and write✎ down the questions. - Then I asked them to gather in pairs or groups of three and go to different courses to get the answers. They had 20 minutes for this task. - While the students were doing the questionaire, I went to the computing room and turned on the computers. - I wrote the digital activities to do on the board: Open Word, Set Arial Font, size 14 for the title and 12 for the text, Copy the questions and the answers, Enrich your text with images downloaded from Internet, Edit the images,  Revise spelling using the spell checker, Include your names, course code ...

Padlet  es una excelente opción muy simple para guardar y compartir contenido multimedia. Podemos utilizarlo como un archivo personal o como una pizarra colaborativa. Lo bueno de esta herramienta es que está disponible como ¡aplicación para el celular! Quiero señalar que, abriendo una cuenta el docente, no es necesario que los alumnos se creen una. La sugiero porque los alumnos  no dejan de usar el celular un segundo . Se pueden subir vídeos e imágenes y escribir textos. También se puede ingresar a distintos padlets a través de links y no hace falta bajarla (ya que a veces dicen no tener espacio en la memoria).  En caso de querer proteger el documento, se puede usar una contraseña.  El único inconveniente en usarla es que sólo se pueden crear hasta 6 Padlets. ¿Qué es una nube de palabras? Las nubes de palabras suelen ser una técnica o recurso de marketing visual que muy interesante para complementar e ilustrar presentaciones y artículos de un blog. Podríamos decir que una nube de palabras es un recurso visual a modo imagen que se utiliza para representar las palabras más destacadas que componen un determinado texto. Estas nubes de palabras suelen presentarse a modo de figura abstracta, en las que son representadas de un mayor tamaño aquellas palabras que aparecen con más frecuencia o son más importantes. Existen herramientas online permiten personalizar la forma de la nube de palabras, el color y el tamaño de los términos principales (para resaltar el nivel de importancia de las keywords o tags dentro de la nube). Anualmente, la Red de Universidades Nacionales con carreras de Informática (RedUNCI*) desarrolla el Congreso de “Tecnología en Educación y Educación en Tecnología” (TE&ET). TE&ET tiene por objetivo la exposición y discusión de trabajos relacionados con la educación y la tecnología, en un contexto multidisciplinario. Though the technology has been around for more than two decades (IWB  was released in 1991), its use has only grown exponentially over the past few years. Fundamentally, an IWB combines a dry erase whiteboard with an LCD projector and is usually mounted on a wall or floor stand. Powered by easy-to-use software, the whiteboard becomes a computer screen viewable by an entire classroom.   The projector projects the content from a onto the surface of the board while the teacher controls the content either with a pointer or a touch of the hand instead of a keyboard and mouse. The combination of software with the projector results in much more than simply a projected image. An interactive whiteboard can be a cost saver as this technology demonstrates how one computer can provide learning stimuli for a whole classroom. Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th. It is a festival of romantic love when people show feelings of love, affection and friendship. Many people give cards, letters, flowers or presents to people they love.They may also arrange a romantic meal in a restaurant or night in a hotel, while others may choose this day to propose or get married. Background The origins of Valentine's Day are not clear but many sources believe that it stems from the story of St Valentine, a Roman priest who was martyred on or around February 14 in the year 270 CE during the reign of Claudius II for refusing to give up his Christian faith. Yesterday La Nación newspaper published an article about online dangers for children and teens. According  to a survey conducted by LoJack and  Chicos.net , 56% of Argentine children between 12 and 15 years have shared personal information with strangers in a social network. And 29% have admitted that they have had direct contact with people they met through this medium. The article points out that banning surfing the net is not the way to prevent cyberbulling or sexting. It is advisable to teach children to share  neither personal information online about themselves  not their family without parental permission. Adults should help kids  become aware of the risks they may have if they use and interact with teachnology - PC, cell phone or webcam- without responsibility. La semana pasada participé del evento Campus Party y tuve la oportunidad de experimentar lo que es la Realidad Virtual (RV) .  Tal como señaló Joan Cwaik, la RV tuvo un auge entre los 80 y 90 con los juegos online, luego ese interés se estabilizó y hoy se analiza usos posibles como por ejemplo con fines terapéuticos. "Teletransportar" a pacientes en terapia intensiva a lugares agradables fuera del hospital no curan sus dolencias, pero la experiencia suele ser tan vívida que engaña al cerebro haciéndolo segregar hormonas que mejoran la calidad de vida.
