The British Council in Second Life

Today is my free morning and I am enjoying surfing the net, facebooking, twittering and of course, blogging! Unfortunatelly I cannot blog as often as I would like to due to my duties as ICT coordinator and teacher trainer. I have been pretty busy but really happy. Exploring Second life is one of my postponed activities. By the way, I have found some information about the British Council in Second Life at http://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/en/second-life What can you  do in the British Council Area in Second Life? An example of Augmented reality: "Sixth Sense"

If you are reading this post, you must be fond of technology. If you are fond of technology, I guess you must be interested in science fiction. Aren´t you? I am. I loved reading Bradbury or Issac Assimov or watching Star Wars and Matrix saga as well as AI (Artificial Intelligence), not only for their special effects but because I like having a look at a possible future. Years ago, the gap between science fiction and real technological achievements was quite big, but this gap seems to get smaller and smaller. Second Life

I am very happy to announce that I became a Second Life citizen. My name is Nelba Aeon. Why did I get my Second Life Citizenship? On one hand I want to explore this 3-D virtual World everybody talks about and on the other because Gavin Dudeney kindly invited me to one of his sessions in Second Life. ( Thank you, Gavin!). Unfortunately I cannot enter SL from my PC because it does not fulfill SL' s requirements ( You need a strong computer specially for the graphics), so I went to a cybercafe. I had my first experience this morning. At the beginning it was a bit disappointing because I was unexperienced and did not know exactly what to do... I walked around, went up and down some stairs, flew...but when I was about to leave, I met a group of people chatting in different languages! Amazing! and finally I met a Canadian lady who talked to me in English. We chatted for some time. I was really happy because she was a newbie, too. Well, that is all for now from SL.
