The Earth HOUR

This year more and more people around the world are joining the Earth hour.

All you have to do is turn off the lights for one hour today (Sat 28 mar). In Argentina it will be from 20:30 to 21:30.

Many cities and organizations in Argentina have joined the project and will turn off the lights of its famous monuments and public buildings.

I will to participate because I think the idea is fabulous, bringing people from around the world together and creating a reflection moment.

Will you join the project?
What do you think about these popular cruzades?
Are they useful? I hope so since no government is taking a serious plan to stop global warming

21st Century Learning

In my previous post I asked if we can go on teaching with the same tools we learnt or used to study. Now, I am watching this video asking myself, are teachers prepared to teach like this for the future?

Mundobloggers

Yesterday I attended an event called "Mundo Bloggers" (Blogger World) It took place in Buenos Aires and most of the participants were local people.

I would like to point out the following:

1) 50% of participants were above their 40s - me among them :-)

2) Although most of the speakers were interesting, I found Santiago Bilinkis' power point presentation the most interesting and Alejandro Oxenford's speech the most enriching.

3) The most successful Argentinian bloggers are two ladies - good for women! - in their early 20s (19 and 25 respectively). If you want to read about them. Their virtual names are: Cumbio (fotolog teen age social leader who was interviewed by the New York Times!) and Conz

4) A 13-old-year boy broadcasted the event alive using http://www.ustream.tv/

Now my question is : According to points 3 and 4 mentioned above, shall we go on teaching with a common blackboard and chalk or maker ????

Happiness

I am very proud to say that I have been appointed as the coordinator of the ICT area at the School of Languages of the National University of La Plata. It is really a challenge because this area has just been opened.

I would like to thank Dafne Gonzalez, Vance Stevens, Gavin Dudeney, Nik Peachey, EVO sessions, Webheads and all my cyberfriends who have inspired me to develop my Internet skills and knowlege.
:-)
